CHERRY HEAD, CHERRY HEART - SYNOPSIS

Wandering the dusty outback of the Tees Delta since 2012, Cherry Head, Cherry Heart have been dodging lynch-mobs, posses and widespread popularity like the musical outlaws that they are. With a clutch of ultra-catchy alternative-pop songs that avoid the usual cliches and embracing a wider world of sound they have begun to work in earnest to take their ‘maddeningly infectious” music to the masses. Their genre-defying album “Tarred and Feathered” which encapsulates everything from 60s film musicals, Country, House, Hip Hop. all-out pop and the bittersweet lyrics more commonly associated with British (and, in their idiosyncratic cover of a Hoodoo Gurus classic, Australian) guitar bands of the 1980s they have created something unique, dizzying and beguiling. Tied together with a loose narrative of a couple on the run from the real world and their own abstract emotions it leaps from richly-detailed, modern arrangements to Spaghetti Western inflections and vaguely latin-inspired chord sequences and melodies through a hundred other places.

Cherry Head, Cherry Heart will be touring the UK with The Southmartins through September - October.
